Brandon Grimm is a Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at Gilbert & Cook, where he serves as a pivotal decision-maker, shaping the firm’s investment strategies and overseeing the portfolios that drive clients’ financial success. With deep understanding across traditional and alternative investments—including private equity, private credit, and real estate. Brandon helps facilitate that each investment decision is grounded in rigorous analysis and aligned with the firm’s mission of assisting clients to live their life of abundance.
As Chief Investment Officer, Brandon is responsible for evaluating opportunities, managing risk, and crafting strategies that empower clients with Choice, Clarity, and Confidence in their financial future. His leadership in the investment process directly supports clients in growing and preserving their wealth, enabling them to Live a Life of Abundance.
Brandon graduated Cum Laude from Luther College with majors in statistics and economics, complemented by studies in business management. He began his career at Principal Global Investors focused on private market investing before earning the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.* Brandon went on to complete his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with honors and an emphasis in finance from the University of Iowa.

As a key member of Gilbert & Cook’s Leadership Team, Brandon is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, helping clients achieve their aspirations while creating lasting legacies.
A strong advocate for leadership and community involvement, Brandon is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Program (2017) and the Charles Schwab Executive Leadership Program (2019). He is an active board member serving on the Executive Committee of Junior Achievement of Central Iowa, contributing to subcommittees and engaging in classroom activities that inspire and educate future generations. Additionally, he is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Iowa, and various other professional, church, and charitable organizations, including First Tee of Central Iowa, Johnston Basketball Club and Professionals for Charity (P4C).
Beyond his professional achievements, Brandon embraces challenges and personal growth. He is a dedicated athlete, having completed a full Ironman triathlon—a testament to his discipline, resilience, and commitment to excellence. Brandon and his wife, Laura, reside in Johnston with their daughters, Scarlet and Violet, and son, Dominic. As a family, they enjoy an active lifestyle filled with boating, golfing, attending concerts, supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with family and friends.
