As Director of Business Strategy, Cara works alongside the Visionary to identify ways to enhance the client experience and foster new relationships with prospective clients and potential business partners. 

Cara earned her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Prior to joining the Gilbert & Cook team, Cara worked in the Financial Services industry in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 2013, Cara was honored as one of Kansas City's "Top 20 in Their Twenties", by Ingrams Magazine*.

Cara is a member of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Academy, Lead DSM Class of 2023. Active in her community, Cara volunteers and supports Make-A-Wish Iowa and 100+ Women Who Care. She is an Executive Committee Member with Explore West Des Moines and is on the Communications Board at the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Cara, her husband Mike and their son Emmet live in West Des Moines. Together they enjoy traveling, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family.
